Angus, I think you should be commended for your efforts to make something happenfor this month. Jason and I were planning on coming up. I am going to go ahead and say that if you guys don't cut it out with drama and cut Dayn some slack I am going to skip it too. Your points don't mean shit if you are the only one racing. Dayn more or less got this going for us in the first place and has put a lot of time and effort into it, and quite frankly has earned more respect than you are giving him.

Ahh Drat... you always think the worst of me, a bit of self projecting there I think?
As far a points go I really don't care. If I see that a number of people cannot make an event due to poor planning on our part I have to ask myself is it fair to count the points? I'm not sure how not counting points works in my favour but whatever...Personally I wouldn't get much gratification from gaining points through attrition, but if that works for you go with it.
I had a simple question on fairness about the classes to be run which has yet to be answered. This was what prompted our previous decision to eliminate the overall cup points. An issue that you Drat were quite vocal about, bizarrely along with Brian with whom we made every effort to include in the decision making process. What I am getting at here is how is this fair? Someone is going to get to race more than others so please enlighten me as to how this can be done in a fair and consistent manner?

Dayn, regarding your question about how many classes are run versus how many races are run and fairness in track time for all...
Again this is all my fault. It comes from the first cup race of the season when I selfishly orchestrated a second race for automatics so that I could race with two scooters in two separate classes and get points for each. I tried to cover it up by bringing other automatic scooters, which JJ and John rode, that made it seam like it was a full class and was justified to have a separate race. I was hoping to set and example for some automatic racers that said they were going to show up this year but didn't.
I keep hoping that enough racers will come out that we can justify several races on any given race day. It sucks when we all sit around waiting for one heat and one race while other clubs run up to 10 different class combinations. I just want more track time.
Drat and Brian, I'm sorry that any of this was put on you. It made it seam like the vintage scooter riders didn't want to race with automatics, which which may have made you feel alienated.
I really apologize for all the confusion and problems this created. My intentions were good but my actions were not well thought out.

Actually Angus you have exactly the right idea and should be commended for your efforts. Bigger classes, more grids, more winners on the machines they are riding. This is how we can grow this thing. The problem of fairness comes up when you try to throw a king of the hill type class in there. Either we all only race one big race, which is not much of a growth model or we need a race for each class AND the cup race. Given the amount of control we have over the tracks, running each class is not going to happen so the question is how do we make it fair? This is the question that I am posing to the proponents of this class.
True the first race was a bit of a FU but are we going to keep making that mistake all season because of it?

I guess this race just wasn't meant to be. I got the wrong clutch parts and I trashed my already messed up shoulder again. This just isn't going to happen for me. Sorry to jam out.
