First weekend of the 2012 moped season was a little light on attendants but 5 people rounded out the grid pretty well with a newcomer shooting strait to the front of the pack from Seattle. JJ, reigning champ from last year on his AV10 Moby, Patrick on the grande once again, Bob on the Cobra, Me back on the 7 for the super stock class, and Steve "Gorilla" Stanton down from Seattle with a h2o peugeot filled the grid and put on a good show. JJ and Stanton were running comparable machines on power made a hell of a battle for 1st until Stanton's clipon rotated on him during a sweeper and kept him from pushing it any more, giving JJ the win. Bob pulled a solid 3rd overall and I followed from behind him a ways, battling a guy on a pocket bike. Patrick rolled in at 5th on the grande .
Since many of the people who said they would be there did not show and the ones that did only running variated class or super stock the race was run with everyone at once. So the points breakdown are as follows:
Variated Class:
1st: JJ Herzog 25 pts 2nd: Steve Stanton 20 pts 3rd: Patrick Fitzgibbons 16 pts
Super Stock:
1st: Bob Hansen 25 pts 2nd: Jesse Stephenson 20 pts
Hoping to see everyone next month at the track. If we all show up it will be a hell of a race.
