I saw a few killer pictures yesterday, smoking tires, flying bikes, tight corners. Can't wait to see the rest! This guy took some great shots, not posted as of now but he's typically pretty quick to post. Check em out! ;D

People----- Take note of Patrick's body position feet placement and all. I had a great vantage point out on the track all day. Patrick's riding style I.M.O. is key to his bad ass skillz. For those of you who ride without an adapted top tank or cross bar. I suggest adding one. Duder looked like he was out there on a super bike or something. Ooops hope I didn't give your secrets away Patrick. Of course that super fast scooter of yours helps but I am pretty sure its got a lot more to do with your riding style. Now I want to see you race a moped too!

Truthfully Jeremie - I'm not actually that good of a rider... There are many who can ride circles around me. The bike is... pretty fast & I had good tires. ;D You do make an excellent observation about body position & holding the bike a certain way while cornering. It takes time & actually riding the track to finally get comfortable doing it. I will say at the beginning of last year when I started applying said methods, it felt completely unnatural and f*cking scary! As an end result, though - worth applying one's self. I'm not opposed to getting on a moped for the track! I do have my hands a bit full right this minute w/ the 2 bikes I have to keep up & going for this season, though.

Paddy, are you sold on the top tank yet? I memory serves you were not convinced after the practice day. In that last pic, It sure looks like you are hanging off of it pretty good, not your frame (but that could be an optical illusion)

Still on the fence a little bit, but I think that I've definitely gotten used to it. Has it helped? I'm not sure. I was using the same part of the frame with my knees that sticks out for stability last year as well. It probably does. I'm most likely questioning myself on it for weight reasons... in which case, I best get back on the workout train. Blah.

If you are that worried about it, you could cut the tank down (you only really need the back of it), remove the front fender, keep your tank below half full at all times (6 lbs a gallon), and remove all hair from your body and head....

I think it would be cool to have a photog camp out on a corner and just take a series of all of us like this... it could be useful to some of us trying to work on (or develop any semblance of) some technique.

Great idea. My vantage point on Sunday out on the track (turn 7) all day left me thinking that very same thing. If someone sat on the outside of the track ( the emergency exit spot) they could take great video/stills of people coming into and exiting that corner. Also taking shots from under the flagger's tent is a good view to of the inside of the that corner. That's why I said what I said about Patrick's set up and what not. ;D Many people went down in turn 7 as well which makes me think it's a great corner to film, to find out why (that includes all racers that day). Another thought! How about a promotional video for the website? Of course I have idea's for that too. sucka's
