Yeah, I'm a bit bummed about that too but I've never been to Mac or PIR so looks like an eclectic mix this year.

Yes - Saturday is the race day. I'm thinking that if we have people around on Friday or if people need help with last minute track prep, we can have a workshop going at Ptown. Saturday they want us there pretty early. Practice will be pretty early. We have 2 races. So far it looks like the first one will be around 11am & the 2nd one will be around 230pm. Sprinting/drag races should get going about 730pm. They are still working on some scheduling stuff for the day, so nothing is set in stone yet. There are a lot of different events happening all day at the track. They are suggesting doing the moped race/gymkhana (whatever we can pull off) during lunch.

Hey all,
In anticipation of our first cup race of the season at GMR in BC Canada on May 29th, I have been looking into the required fees for participants. As many of you may already know, to race with the Pacific Coast Minimotorcycle Race Club (who organizes this event) we are not only required to pay the track fee but also must be a member of the Canadian Motorcycle Association. The race membership fee for CMA is $70 per year (expiring December 31). All racers must join the CMA to enable the organizing body (PCMRC) to carry the mandatory liability insurance provided to them through the CMA.
I have had correspondence with the CEO of the CMA to explain that many of our racers will only be in Canada for the one event. The mandatory CMA fee is a yearly fee which doesn’t benefit our American members for the other 364 days of the year. Furthermore it dissuades our American members from attending the only Canadian Cup race we have scheduled for 2011. I have asked if there is a special exemption for our American members or perhaps a pro rated or single event fee.
Although the CMA is aware of this problem and has attempted to offer single event memberships to Americans in the past, there is no provision for this now. Unfortunately all racers attending the May 29 Cup Series race will have to fill out an application to the CMA and pay the $70 fee. The track fee will most likely be $60 - $80 but has not yet been established. We are working with the PCMRC to make this race event as affordable as possible. Please don’t let the fees for this event keep you away on May 29th. There will be another update on this topic well before the day so check back with us and keep the date free.
Regards,
PSRA

Further to the CMA fees topic...
We were able to work out a deal with the PCMRC to help offset the cost of the CMA membership fee. For the Cup Race #1 @ GMR the daily track fee for racing will only be $40 for American racers. The CMA fee will aslo be due which is $70. $110 all in for the day. If any American racers wish to join us for some of our other "Local Race" days this year they will only have to pay the track fee after that.
Cheers, PSRA

Ok here it is, the official start of the 2011 PSRA scooter racing season. This is the first race of the 2011 CASCADIA CUP! This year we will be racing at some of the best multi-sport tracks in BC, Washington and Oregon. The first race is at Greg Moore Raceway in beautiful Chilliwack BC.
Just one hour east of downtown Vancouver BC, the Greg Moore Raceway is bounded by spectacular scenery and home to the West Coat Kart Club and our hosts for this event, the Pacific Coast Mini Roadracing Club. The PCMRC includes classes such as Mini GP, Supermoto, Pocket Bikes, and of course Scooters. Unlike most of the tracks we race on, the GMR doesn’t have rental karts so the day will be dedicated to two wheeled action from morning till night.
Most of our Cascadia Cup events this year are two day meets and this will be no exception. Saturday May 28th will be an all day practice with tones of time for testing, tuning, and getting to know the track. Camping is free and there is a huge pit area, lawn and lots of portable toilets. Being a bit of a drive from Vancouver, we would anticipate that lots of local racers, as well as out-of-towners, will be staying the night at the track. This may turn out to be a fun night of hanging out with friends we only get to see a few times a year. Should anyone want to stay at a motel there are several to choose from just 10 minutes away in downtown Chilliwack.
On race day Sunday there will be an open practice in the morning followed by a brief riders meeting, then racing all afternoon. If we have a good turnout of scooters we may organize some different scooter classes and races depending on the number and type of scoots. We would like to see more automatics show up this year so don’t be shy.
Track fees for the practice day are $60 plus tax. As mentioned, camping overnight at the track is free. Track fees for race day will be $60-$80 depending on the total number of racers. For anyone who has not yet raced in Canada this year, the mandatory $70 CMA membership fee is due before racing. The CMA fee is a one time yearly fee so after you join/renew you are good for the rest of the season. As a special incentive to our American members, who will most likely be racing in Canada only once this season, the PCMRC has decided to drop the track fees for this event to $40 to help offset the CMA fees. Racers from the USA will only pay $110 total! Many thanks to Roland and Paul for helping us out with this.
For spectators, parking and admission is free. Come hang out with us Saturday or Sunday, talk shop, check out the scoots and have a fun day at the races. As an added bonus there will be free photo opportunities with your favorite racers, just don’t forget to bring your camera.
We hope there will be a good turnout by racers and spectators alike for our first Cup Race of the year and only Cup Race in BC. See you at the track!
Cheers, PSRA

Hey all, make sure to hop on the FB page and hit "accept" to the invite for Cup Race #1. I plan on bringing a bunch of bikes out for the weekend so the practice day will be good fun and potential backup for anyone who breaks down (I mean has engine trouble as opposed to emotional trouble or 80's dancing). ;D

The dawgs would have the run of the place at the track but not sure about motels/hotels. Have a search on the webernet, there's no shortage of accomodation in Vancouver or Chilliwack.
