Thinking back to the last season I noticed that there was some serious changes to the amount of traction I was getting particularly at Pat's. The last race was pretty treacherous compared to the previous event there. Nothing had really changed aside from the temperature. I started thinking that on a shady track like that unless it's quite warm out the tires are not really going to get up to temp or take a long time to do it. Anyway this got me thinking about tire warmers and how they may be useful in the colder months at least.
Looking into it I found a reasonably affordable option. They would work out to around $100 per set and are not digital. Digital would be considerably more but are an option. I'd have to get 10 sets though so I figured that I would ask here to see if anyone else would want in on this?
Cheers,
Dayn

I had looked into tire warmers... was concerned about clearance issues particularly with the exhaust/clutch cover on a smally. I'd be in for a set. I am in total agreement about traction that day at Pat's

I think everyone had trouble that day. Terrible traction that day.

Ah ha! I have a brand new 1200W two stroke generator that's small and quiet that i almost never use. Perfect! I'm in for a set. @ $100 a set it's like 1/2 price anything else I've found. Nice work Dayn. Might be hard pressed to find 10 takers though.

That makes like six or seven. Getting close to the req'd 10!
Hey Dayn, will these things fit 10" wheels?

Yep these are for 10" wheels. Looking at $120 landed.... I have the option of ordering a sample set which I was thinking of doing but I could also see myself not being motivated much after that. Plus that way if they are not great quality or something at least it's just me that's out not the group.
I'll see what the engineers get back to me with (see other post under Van shop) and take it from there.

So the BGM ones are not going to work. In theory they would but once you get a transformer the pice becomes prohibative. So back to a bulk order.
Do you gus want me to order a sample or do we all want to pitch in and make an order?
Something to think about is lead time. The sample will take a couple of weeks then likely a couple more for the order which is cutting it close to the season. Anyway I'm game for either and don't mind buying a couple of sets to make up the numbers but I don't really want to front the whole thing....

First nice day in a while so i was doing a little tuning and testing around the block. It was about 4 degrees at first and my tires were rock hard. Got them out in the sun and they warmed up pretty quick to a nice soft feel. It's amazing what a bit of heat can do to these things. I'm definitley in for a set but you will have to make the call to place a sample order or bulk. It looks like you will have a pretty easy time finding buyers at roughly $100 a pop. I'm stoked.

So I ordered the sample. Figured it was better that I get ripped off than the lot of us. I'll organize a big order once I'm happy with the quality etc.
