Here's the deal:
I've been working to find a track to get a replacement cup race in place for July since PGP is out. In talking with the organizers of WMRRA they are interested in us participating at thier Sunday July 15th race at the Ridge in Shelton. At this point they are 95% sure this will happen and can have confirmation next week. What they need from us to make this happen is the following:
1) Copy of the PSRA tech rules for bikes/gear (I have sent this already) 2) A rough number at this point of how many racers will attend.
They are offering a 20-30 minute morning practice and a 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minute spot mid day to run 2 heats and one main (or whatever the PSRA decides will be best for that amount of time)
Let me know who's interested/commited and I will get the information to them.
LET'S RIDE THE RIDGE!!!

Holly crap! I'd love to do this. The new track is supposed to be amazing.
Do we need a minimum number of riders? Count me in.
This is also middle ground for most racers so lets all do what we can to make this happen!

You might also bring up that we ran PIR last year as part of our series/had to pass tech inspection there as well/have experience on something larger than a kart track. We went out to practice with the CB160/250 vintage class & it was a good combo as we carry similar speeds around the course. Might be a time saver if they are trying to squeeze us into another pre-existing schedule.

They actually mentioned seeing you guys at PIR last year and that was a reason they were so interested.
Normally on a Sunday they run a "Taste of the Track" event for first timers. On this date, we would race instead.

Oh hell yes!!! I've been dreaming about that track. 20-30 min of practice will only get us two laps though ;-)

Yes, yes, yes. I need to get this planned out since my wife will be out of town that weekend as well. Just Sunday, right? When would the track go hot? Driving up same day would be a stretch for us at 2.5 hrs. Can we camp on site Saturday night? Let's start organizing who is going and ride sharing!

Now that there is a list forming I will finalize with WMRRA on Tuesday. From what I heard of thier board meeting this week, everyone is on board, but I didn't expect to hear until Tuesday since they are racing this weekend.
As I see it, here is what we need confirmed:
1) Track fee 2) Practice start time/duration 3) Heat start time/race duration 4) Camping available? 5) Tech space?
Please give suggestions for other questions and I will take care of it Tuesday.
I plan on finding somewhere to camp, if not at the track for Saturday so I can get to the track early Sunday and be ready to go.

Thanks again for organizing this Garret. I will be as flexible as possible to make this happen. As long as they let me out on their track I'm not too concerned about the particulars. Vroom Vroom!

OK, WE ARE CONFIRMED FOR RACING SUNDAY JULY 15TH!!!!!
Here are the details:
Track Fee for the day $100.00 (they want to work with bringing this down for future events if all goes well)
Track Opens at 6:30am on Sunday Racer Meeting at 8:00am Practices Normally Start at 9:00am
Our schedule is: Tech from 6:30am - 7:50am Racers Meeting 8:00am 20-30 minute practice (Time TBD) Heats/Racing at 12:00pm (schedule to be agreed to by PSRA, duration of 1 hour 20 minutes)
They said camping at the track the night before is no problem, which is what I will be doing. Also offered that we can walk the track/check out corners on Saturday evening once thier racing is over in order to get a better idea of the layout.
Lastly they will try to have 4-5 spaces available for our pits.
Let me know if anyone has any other questions as we get closer, otherwise I'll see you all at The Ridge!

Great work! Sounds like an early start so i will most likely camp at the track too. Hopefully we can snag our pit spots and set up/camp there on Saturday night. I will definitely want to walk the track too if we can.
