Finally... Hey kids! We just got done with the board meeting members for the local tracks and the dates as follows are what our local 2010 season looks like: 3/27 - Mac Track - Tune & Practice day only (get your bike dialed, make sure your leathers don't pinch you in uncomfortable areas) ;D 4/24, 25 - Mac Track - Post noon practice day on Saturday, race on Sunday (some sort of fairgrounds going on Sat. in the morning, but they assured us we can get on around 11/noon) 5/15, 16 - Mac Track - Practice Saturday, race Sunday 6/12, 13 - PARC - Practice Saturday, race Sunday 7/3, 4 - PARC - Practice Saturday, race Sunday 8/7, 8 - PARC - Practice Saturday, race Sunday 9/11, 12 - Mac Track - Practice Saturday, race Sunday 10/16, 17 - PARC - Practice Saturday, race Sunday This is for the Oregon set, so extra effort was made to not conflict w/ AHMRA, Polini Cup, (posted)OMRRA, & pre-existing Kart race dates. Now, mark your calendars and go get some. ;D

Do y'all have a written up rules for the stock class I have been hearing about? Modded suspension, brakes and pipe, and that's it?

Jamie - it's true, the rules page on the PSRA site isn't up yet, but as it stands the stock class allows for pipe, suspension, & brake upgrades on factory setups. Do it!

Will there be a spreading of this new class to the Portland community outside this message board? I think (but could be completely off base) that there are people that might be willing to give racing a try if they knew there was a stock class... for a couple reasons, $$$$$ and feeling like they could never make a bike that would be competitive with a few gearheads we know.

It's true! We need to get the word out as much as possible. I wanna see more bodies out there in a big way. This is the link to the OSB page that has the local class listings as well as price breakdowns for the weekends: supermotojunkie.com/showthread.php?p=972435#post972435Remember that we are not restricted to running in the scooter/moped classes. We also ran in a few of the mini classes last year and it was an all out blast. Those guys were happy to have us and I feel like it really helped me as far as my riding ability. So keep in mind that while OSB has made specific classes for us, we are not necessarily restricted to them... ;D ;D ;D

IMHO, a semi-professional announcement needs to written up and sent out on the PDX scooter mailing list, Lucky Bastards mailing list, facebook groups, ect ect ect.... I think there are a few more people that would be interested if they knew that they dont need a stoooopid fast bike to compete and have fun.
I think you fine folks that are setting this up have done a great job with schedule, and classes and that word needs to spread like swine fever.

what up with the dates for the seattle track? I also second the notion of posting some official type promotions up.

As it stands right now, I believe PSRA are still awaiting some last rounds of approval from the Seattle track for their proposed dates. We should have those after the coming weekend. - At which point, the cup series dates will be chosen and piggyback onto the local dates in each city (I think) so that we have a three city challenge where - should you chooses to - you will get to race on 4 or 5 different tracks against lots of different people in one season. ;D Or you can just race locally all summer. Or maybe do a couple away dates - the choice is yours. But - yes, once we have all of that info together in one package of race-happy joy-fun for the NW, I do foresee mass propagandization any way we can get it. ;D ;D

Hey kids. Just got news from PARC that they double booked our July date. As it stands right now, July is up in the air for a track date. MAC is host to the county fair that week, so they're out as well. I will post more when I found out if we can book another date/track.

We could be an event at the fair! Scooter racing is every bit as entertaining as a lawn mower demolition derby, and I have watched that at a fair before.

Are we (we being scooters and mopeds) separating ourselves for the motards et.al? Or have you just taken on scheduling for the whole thing?

Obviously this is a dynamic situation, but if everything falls to shite, we could always take our kooky brand of hijinks to the road at the Polini Cup racing in Atwater. Kind of like a crossover Grey's Anatomy/Private Practice episode.
