Hello Moped Racers!
I was wondering if anyone has a count of just how many moped riders will be racing? I finally went out riding for the first time with some of the Up Hill Battle kids here in Portland. I heard at least 3 of them say they are racing this year. However I don't see them on this forum. So again I am wondering if any one has a realistic idea of how many moped racers will be out there?
I may as well ask another question.
How many scooter first people will be racing mopeds second?
And finally!
I think that each chapter (portland, seattle, california) should host a pre practice meeting to go over safety, legal, sign in/up, get your numbers squared away and most of all get to meet the other racers. Like I met JJ, I think Sean is some one on here, maybe Jamie too, some Ptown peeps. I was thinking that one weekend day everyone could meet at a park for a casual but yet serious meeting. How shit I just thought of like ten more questions. Maybe a different thread for them
not so fast!

Patrick, Jesse, and I (Sean)(all from Ptown) are all on this board and racing. Patrick is out of town for a couple weeks but Jesse can handle your moped questions. Feel free to stop by. Dayn and Brad are the other two leads on this, although not in Portland. And clearly JJ is a good resource as well locally.

I'm all set to race this season. Got my gear, now I need to finish putting together my race bike. Not sure if it will be assembled for the track practice day in two weeks, but it will be ready to go by the first race date. Hopefully.

Welcome! I have seen your posts on the moped army. Nice work you are turning out up there in Seattle. Looking forward to meeting you and racing with you. Tell us about the bike you are building?

I'm building a very simple Honda hobbit. A 70cc cast iron Malossi cylinder, a proma circuit pipe, 21 Dellorto and upgraded reeds, and a slightly modified variator. I'm looking to spend as little money as possible, since I believe that Moped racing is THE cheapest motor sport, including go-peds, go karts and even RC cars.
