Hey all, first off I know nothing about scooter racing. I as soon as started to read (look at track pics) about this stuff it peaked my interest. I'm mosty into old Toyota's and wanted to get on some thing two wheeled, but I'm kind of a coward (lol) and wanted to get a scooter as a learning experience. So any advice on what to get would be great! (keep in mind I'm 6'0 and 275)

Hey Bud, nice of you to drop in. Are you talking about getting a road scoot or a racer? Either way you would most likely due better on a 1977-1984 Vespa 150 or 200. They are big enough to be comfortable and powerful enough to move a larger guy like you. If you're not into the vintage scene you should look at getting a newer (2000+) Vespa 150 or 200 for the road or a Zuma/BWS for the track. The latter being only 50cc but you can do them out to go really fast and the suspension and breaking would be better for a guy your size.

Well I don't know if I want to race (looks fun) or just ride a round town, but I've never been on anything with a motor and two wheels. So probably just get a street heap to start and get comfortable so I don't make a fool of myself on a track. (are there any open track days?) Maybe a dumb question, but is the 150 and 200 just a series recognition or CC of the motor? And is the Honda Ruckus any good?
