So the last time I was racing my smallframe, the Zirri MR2000 was still the kit to beat. Since then, this whole generation of new stuff showed up. Does anybody have any knowledge of these new systems? My gut says the Parmakit is probably the hawt shit, because Scauri is the man behind the curtain there. But, FALC & Quattrini want a million bucks for their stuff so it must be worth a million, right? Has there been a dyno run-off between these jugs since I stopped paying attention?

From what I read Falc puts out the most hp, followed by the quattrini M1L. There really are a ton of different options for cylinder kits. I am building up a Parmakit setup right now. Dayn was running a polini barrel with a gransport piston, and Patrick a malossi barrel, I think also with the GSpiston. I ran a standard case inducted malossi setup. All three of us had issues translating the power to the wheel due to clutch issues. It makes me wonder if it is even realistic to try to put 30+ hp to use on the little tracks we are riding on, in my opinion less is sometimes more, especially when you are talking spending a $800 on a cylinder that you need to buy a $500 crank for and a $400 clutch to make it work. I chose the parmakit option because I wanted to run an aluminum barrel and cylinder inducted reed. I think that between Patricks and Dayn's experimenting with different clutch setups there are some more affordable options that can handle the builds we are doing. I Did hear a rumor that Dayn was considering taking a ride on the Falc train though....

I'd say that Falc is the best of what is currently available, but there is a Quattrini 150 coming out and a new Parma that is going to give them a run as well. The Europeans run on similar tracks to us and they seem to favor the the Quattrinis but there may be some displacement restrictions behind that.
I thought about the Falc but I believe that this year riding ability is really what it's going to be all about, that and reliability. With proper rings for the Polini available from GS and their piston for the Malossi there are some good options for some reasonable power & price. Next year is going to be the time to bring out the big guns and by that time there will be even more kits on the market. Hopefully some of the specifically designed for road racing and not sprinting which all the big boy kits are currently designed for.
